The IMT curriculum explained

My experience of working in AMU

My ST3 post in Acute medicine - Scarborough ( August 2019 - August 2020)

This was my timeline: I applied for my ST3 post in February, 2019. I gave my interview in March.  I was offered a post in the deanery of my choice (York and Humber) in April.  I accepted the offer in May.  I received my offer letter on the 28th of May, 2019 that I will be working in care of elderly for the first 6 months. I received my certificate of sponsorship on the 3rd of June, 2019 during my core medical training year 2 I applied for my standard visa extension on the same day and applied for my bio-metrics on the 10th of June, 2019. I received my rota on the 26th of June, 2019. This is my rota: The non highlighted days are my regular 9 AM to 5 PM ward timings. The orange highlighted days are my days off. The yellow highlighted days are my long days - 0800 to 2000 The green highlighted days are my nights- from 2000 to 0800. My experience of core medical training - York and Humber: 2018-9

I worked as a core medical trainee in Harrogate ( CT1) and York (CT2) as part of my training in York and Humber Deanery. WHY I CHOSE THESE PLACEMENTS: I wanted to rotate in all major specialities. The rotations in my CT1 were : respiratory, stroke and elderly and in CT2, I rotated in renal, gastro and neurology. I had already done a 6 months placement in cardiology in my non training post as my first job in the NHS. I liked Harrogate and York. Harrogate was a small town town and was recently voted the happiest city in the UK. My wife was expecting and Harrogate offered the best maternity services. I had selected other cities, like Leeds as my top preference however I got my fifth preference ( ie Harrogate and York). After researching these hospitals and cities, my wife and I decided to select these without the option of upgrading. MY EXPERIENCE OF CT1 Harrogate was a lovely small district hospital.
